OUR STOCK

Set within a 3 acre garden and amid forest in the rolling foothills of the Cambrian Mountains at an elevation of 860 feet our bookshop is one of the most remote in the United Kingdom.

Housed in converted 17th century stone barns at our farmstead our stock of 10,000 general secondhand and antiquarian books covers most subjects and with a specialism in gardening and botanical titles dating from 1600 onwards. In another barn and in respect of our historic foundation we maintain a stock of about 20,000 theological, philosophical & related academic material.

You are welcome to visit, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and wander through the gardens which are currently being landscaped, give a biscuit to Holly (our receptionist at the gate - she's a big white German Shepherd dog) and even if you can't find books you want to buy you can always leave with a half dozen freshly laid free range hen's eggs from our chickens or with a selection rom our large range of beeswax church candles.

SEARCHING OUR STOCK ONLINE

On the left hand side tool bar you can create a list of selected theological books by clicking on the relevant catalogue. Similarly you will see on the right hand tool bar a growing list of other subject areas. You can search our stock by using the author or title box or create your own catalogue by using the keyword box.

OUR BUSINESS HOURS - Callers Welcome

We are open for business Monday-Saturday between 10.00am and 5.00pm when someone will be able to take your telephone call or answer email enquiries & open to the public on Tuesday-Saturday between 10 am and 5pm. Click here for travel directions.

"A journey into the middle of nowhere was rewarded by a friendly greeting, hot coffee and lots of chatter. This really is an oasis in the wilderness and the tens of thousands of titles on offer took some hours to browse. The theological stock took the whole of one massive converted barn. Other subjects, with a large gardening section, were a joy to behold. Only a fraction of the books are on the internet at the moment. There are many scarce titles on offer, particularly on field sports and rural pursuits." - Chris Harte (TheBookGuide)
