OPENING HOURS

We are usually open for business between the hours of 10.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Saturday when we will be available to answer your telephone calls and email enquiries, Callers are welcome in person during these hours but please do telephone before setting out on your journey to ensure someone will be available to receive you.

Our books are housed in converted barns on a remote farmstead amidst Forestry Commission lands where we are endeavouring to create a three acre formal woodland garden. We are 11 miles north west of the small town of Llandovery in Carmarthenshire and 14 miles south of Lampeter. There is no immediate public transport available but access by road is easy. Please click here for a map. The hamlet of Porthyrhyd is one mile from the A482 which runs between Lampeter and Llanwrda (on the A40). In the centre of the hamlet there is a narrow lane opposite the Old Post Office and about a third of a mile down this lane on the right is the Garreg Fawr forestry entrance gates. Immediately adjacent to this is our drive which rises steeply from the lane and then carries on for about 300 yards. Our bookrooms are in the two barns in the courtyard & parking is available for a half dozen cars.
